The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore dominates Florence's skyline. Brunelleschi's dome, Giotto's campanile and the baptistery doors form the heart of any Florence port day.
Cruise ships dock at Livorno's commercial cruise terminal (Molo Garibaldi / Darsena Toscana), the gateway to Tuscany. Florence is roughly 90 km inland, Pisa about 25 km south and Lucca 35 km east. Dome climbs take 45–60 minutes and are physically demanding. On tight port schedules, admire the exterior and baptistery doors, then prioritise the Accademia for David.
